Hi, my name's AnnaMarie! I'm a 25 year old crochet artist and founder of Spools on Parade: a Black owned crochet business based in Philadelphia, PA. Initially founded in June 2020, Spools on Parade started as a Depop shop exploring crochet styles in clothing, decor, accessories, and more.
I first learned to crochet when I was in 4th grade. Every student in my class had to do an apprenticeship project to learn a new skill from an adult. My mom stepped up to the plate to teach me how to crochet, thus blossoming my 15 years of love for the craft. This led to me founding and leading an all ages crochet club for the following two years where I'd teach others how to crochet and create blankets together to donate to local charities.
Since the inception of Spools on Parade, I have had the opprtunity to work on a wide array of fun projects, vend at different arts markets around Philadelphia, and collaborate with different organizations to teach basic crochet classes.
Have an idea for a custom commission? Want to hire me to teach a crochet class? Have any other crochet related inquiries? Feel free to reach out on my contact page! :0)
